Résumé
City Works 3 is the third in a series of books which document the exciting work of students from The City College of New York Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture. As the only public school of architecture in New York City, the SSA occupies a unique position within the multitude of design institutions nationwide.
At SSA the active pursuit of new theories, materials and technologies is inextricably linked with a commitment to ecologically and culturally sustainable practices. New York City and other urban environments are viewed as vital sources of knowledge and inspiration; yielding both questions about how we live now and possible solutions to how we hope to live in the future.
Representing programs in Landscape Architecture, Architecture and Urban Design, the student work in this volume emphasizes interdisciplinary exchange and the belief that only through shared insight can we address the unprecedented challenges facing designers in the twenty-first century.
