is contributing editor for technology to Computer Gaming World magazine and its sister Web site, Gamespot. A full-time writer, he has written for other leading industry publications, including PC Magazine and Computer Shopper. Loyd pioneered the field of PC hardware testing and reviews related to game performance, beginning with the first graphics card roundup for Computer Gaming World seven years ago.

When he's not up to his elbows inside a computer chassis, you can find him playing networked computer games, skiing with his wife and two daughters, or reading.
