Roger L. Freeman - Collection Wiley Series in Telecommunications and Signal Processing

700 pages, parution le 03/03/1999

Résumé

Providing an introduction to the complex technical world of telecommunications, this text allows non-technical personnel in the telecommunications industry to understand the various issues that come up in the course of their work. It addresses the differences between bandwidth and data transfer protocol, and examines what PSTN, ISDN, PCS, or ATM stand for. The author leads the reader through an array of current topics, providing an overview of the field, from telephony and data communication to enterprise networks, and from television transmission to network management. He assumes no mathematical or technical know-how on the part of the reader so that topics are dealt with from the ground up, and all terms are defined with examples.
