A l'image et a la ressemblance de dieu
Vladimir Lossky - Collection Patrimoines - christianisme
Résumé
--
'A l'image et à la ressemblance de Dieu' is a collection of studies resumed and coordinated by Vladimir Lossky shortly before his death, therefore constituting his theological thinking in its ultimate form. The author meticulously re-examines the classic Orthodox stances: the expression of the truth, Tradition, the significance of the Church's conciliatoriness and catholicity, and the role of the Holy Spirit in ecclesiology and spirituality. Faithful to the spirit of the Fathers of the Church, he lays the foundations of an anthropology and revives the theology of the image of God. He clarifies 'the theological notion of human dignity' without forgetting 'the anthropological implications of Church dogma' or eschatological problems. Unafraid to engage in a veritable 'disputatio' with Latin writers such as Augustine, Anselm of Canterbury or Thomas Aquinas, employing an apophatic approach, the author retraces the entire history of Salvation whereby God comes forward to meet man and elevates him to His Divine Presence. This book by Vladimir Lossky constitutes, with his 'Essay on the mystic theology of the Eastern Church', an indispensable reference for 20th century theology.
