Biographie de John Castor
John Castor received a Ph.D. in astronomy from the California Institute of Technology in 1967, for work involving radiation hydrodynamics in pulsating stars. He then joined the University of Colorado and the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics, where he worked on the foundations of radiation hydrodynamics and spectral line formation in high-velocity flows. This led to a very successful theory of radiatively driven stellar winds. From 1981 he has been a physicist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, working on problems in high-energy-density physics, includingthe interpretation of experiments with high-power lasers.
