Professional Typography with Adobe InDesign CS2

Nigel French

270 pages, parution le 21/04/2006

Résumé

The sophisticated typographic controls Adobe InDesign offers have made it today's premier page layout tool. Now, Nigel French's InDesign Type, the first book to focus exclusively on typographic features, provides users a comprehensive overview of the application's vast array of type capabilities-from basic character-level formatting to advanced techniques using nested styles. Through practical examples and a wealth of color and black-and-white illustrations, InDesign Type shows how features such as the Adobe Paragraph Composer, Optical Kerning, and support for OpenType fonts work and how users can efficiently produce professional type treatments. Simply put, InDesign Type is a rich resource for anyone interested in producing better-looking type with Adobe InDesign.

Nigel French's InDesign Type offers:

  • The first in-depth examination of the sophisticated typographic capabilities of InDesign CS and CS2
  • Detailed coverage of new type-related features, such as Sequential Styles, Import Word Styles, and Anchored Objects
  • Clear, engaging explanations of the why and the how of good typography
