Résumé
John Nash - architect, town-planner, landscape designer, bridge-builder, engineer and entrepreneur - was born in 1752 and died in 1835, outliving his principal patron, George IV, by five years. After a disheartening start, he made a remarkable recovery and went on to become the most successful and fashionable architect of his time.
This fully illustrated survey of Nash's work includes all of his known and attributed works. The lively introduction, written by the distinguished architectural historian Sir John Summerson, gives a perceptive portrait of this imaginative and influential architect.
