Résumé
The field of fire protection in steel had been undergoing
considerable debate and transition prior to the events of
September 2001. Since than that debate has only increased.
Steel and Composite Structures is concerned with the
fundamental behavior of steel and composite structures in
fire and their design methods. It is the first book to
cover recent major advances in this field, in particular it
emphasis on the behavior of complete structures and
structural behavior at large deflections, as opposed to the
small deflection behavior of individual elements in fire.
This book identifies a number of important future research topics in this area. The outcome of these new research studies should lead to the development of better design methods in the field of structural design and fire safety.
