The main purpose of this book is to show the relevance of international macroeconomics to understanding the world economy. It is divided into three parts. The first provides a succinct summary of open economy macroeconomics from a theoretical perspective. The second analyzes policy covering the balance of payments, exchange rates, capital flows and the co-ordination of macroeconomic policy. The third applies the theory to show how it informs a number of global economic events and issues including economic and financial crises and global economic imbalances.
