Macromedia now offers the Macromedia Flash 5 FreeHand 10 Studio, a packaged design and Web publishing solution. Using FreeHand and Flash in tandem, designers can create professional vector-based graphics, then export them to print or the Web.

Macromedia Flash 5 FreeHand 10 Studio: Training from the Source takes readers through several real world graphic and Web design projects designed to show how FreeHand can augment and enhance Flash, making the two programs a complete solution for what Macromedia calls multipublishing. Each lesson features one project, and each project uses components of both FreeHand and Flash. Readers will learn how to combine text and graphics, work with paths and points, use layers and styles, and prepare files for print or the Web. From there, users can easily drag and drop design concepts and illustrations from FreeHand's workspace into Macromedia Flash, maintaining symbols and layers, and then instantly publish to the Macromedia Flash Player. The enclosed CD contains all the files users need to complete each project, plus completed files for users to compare with their own results.
