Résumé

Multi-Carrier Digital Communications, 2nd Edition, is a concise summary of the present state-of-the-art of the theory and practice of OFDM technology. It is unique in that it addresses both the theory and practical applications of multi-carrier communications over a wide variety of wired and wireless media. It offers a unified presentation of OFDM theory and high-speed and wireless applications; in particular, ADSL, wireless LAN, digital broadcasting, and ultra wideband technologies are explained.

Multi-Carrier Digital Communications is essential both to developers of communications systems and to researchers and graduate students involved in analysis of digital communications, and will remain a valuable summary of the technology, providing an understanding of new advances as well as the present core technology.

L'auteur - Ahmad R. S. Bahai

Ahmad R. S. Bahai is a Fellow and the Chief Technologist of National Semiconductor. He is also an adjunct/consulting professor at Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley. He previously worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a technical manager in the Advanced Communications Lab. He served as an editor of IEEE Communication Letters for four years. His research interest includes mixed signal processing, VLSI for communication systems, and communication theory. He is the patent holder and author of many fundamental works in OFDM and wireless communications. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1993.

L'auteur - Burton R. Saltzberg

Burton R. Saltzberg received his Sc.D. from New York University in 1964. Dr. Saltzberg is currently an independent consultant in digital communications. For most of his career at Bell Laboratories, from 1957 through 1996, he was engaged in communication-theory research, as well as in analysis and initiation of new data communications offerings over a wide variety of channels. He currently holds 29 patents, including one of the very first for OFDM. He was made a Fellow of the IEEE in 1976 for his contributions to data communications. Dr. Saltzberg received the IEEE Communications Society's Armstrong Award in 1991.

L'auteur - Mustafa Ergen

Mustafa Ergen received his B.S. degree from Middle East Technical University as a METU Valedictorian in 2000, his M.S. degree from the University of California Berkeley in 2002, and is currently a Ph.D. student in the University of California Berkeley, all in Electrical Engineering. He has been conducting research in wireless communication networks with an emphasis on WLAN and OFDM systems and is author of many works in the field.
