Résumé

A Practical Guide to DSL" is a must for anyone looking to purchase DSL for high-speed Internet service over existing telephone lines.

The book provides an in-depth discussion of what DSL is, what you can do with it and how to purchase it, including a DSL shopping checklist. But it goes beyond the basics and explains all the technological issues you must consider before venturing into the world of high-speed Internet access.

The author also addresses the problems typically associated with installing DSL service and provides helpful hints regarding what you should look for in a service provider. "A Practical Guide to DSL" doesn't stop there - it deftly explains how to set up a home or small office network, the equipment involved, the installation process and gives a solid overview of the different kinds of networks available for the home and small business environments.

Janice Reynolds formed Janrey Consulting in 1995 to provide technology, marketing, advertising and public relations consulting to information technology and Internet/intranet clients. In addition to her work at Janrey, Reynolds has been a leading player in several Internet startups, including wipnet.com, globalgarage.com and Town24.com. She also provides expert advice to budding entrepreneurs as the DSL Expert on speedcorp.net and as the E-commerce and Internet Ventures Expert on allbusiness.com.
