L'auteur - Louis Bromfield

Louis Bromfield est né en 1896 à Mansfield (Ohio). Après avoir étudié l'agronomie, il se dirige vers le journalisme. En 1914, il s'engage dans l'armée française comme ambulancier. Il est ensuite critique d'art et critique musical. Le prix Pulitzer lui a été décerné en 1926 pour son troisième roman, Précoce automne. La Mousson paraît en 1937. Il est mort en 1956 dans sa ferme de l'Ohio.
