Tenzin, Lodoe Kunsang's son, born in 1971, was 18 when he participated in the March 10, 1989 protest to demand a free Tibet, earning him 4 years in prison. Despite severe repression, every year Tibetans continue to celebrate the commemoration of this remarkable and tragic insurgency. Tenzin was one of the first victims. At the head of the procession chanting the words of "Free Tibet! Free Tibet!
