Résumé
--
Her childhood and teenage years were fraught with problems: frequent illness, a lack of affection, living in a constant state of anxiety and an atmosphere of hatred, the only daughter in a household full of brothers, having to hide in a cellar... Like a boat adrift, she never knew if she would arrive at her destination - and if so - where that destination would be. Her fearless and probing quest to make some sense of her existence led her to study philosophy and, for many years, the natural sciences. But her psychological self-investigation did not stop her dreaming of a seemingly inaccessible normality. Next came marriage and with it children, to whom she found it very difficult to relate followed by exhaustion and near depression. But one day, everything changed: an unhoped for and unexpected recovery finally gave her the right to exist and take her place in humanity a loud, insistent call that had to be answered a manifestation of God that reached beyond the limits of personal experience a thrust forward toward others to bear witness of the wonderful gift of faith a path, sometimes a difficult one, that taught her to live, to find her place as a mother, to understand the notion of forgiveness in relation to past events, to enter into a relation with other believers and ultimately the revelation of her true vocation in social work. In this book, we read about the author's salvation: three sacred days in her life. In a bright, lively style that is direct and decidedly modern, it tells the story of a child who was born in the second half of the 20th century, married and had four children before becoming a clinical psychologist. The narrative also describes a frequently encountered paradox, that of those who find themselves between the grace and joy of conversion and the difficulties of entering the Church. A passionate and poignant testimony that makes us reflect on humanity and faith.
