Chrétiens penseurs du social, 2
Calvez Jean-Yves - Collection Histoire de la morale
Résumé
--
The official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church on social affairs is often better known than those who contributed to the debate in an independent manner. The first tome of this work presents a series of authors from 1920-1940: one lay person, Maritain and three Jesuits, Fessard, Teilhard de Chardin, and de Lubac. This second volume focuses on the post-war period, from 1945 to 1967, a time of reconstruction and preparation for the Vatican II council, during which Christians were greatly involved in social issues under the dual influence of the Gospel and the confrontation with Marxism. Among others, the Dominical Father Louis-Joseph Lebret, founder of Économie et Humanisme, the great Christian economist François Perroux, the sociologist Henri Desroche, Montuclard from Jeunesse de l'Église, as well as Bigo, Bosc and Clément. The thoughts of the Italian Igino Giordani and the American John Courtney Murray, and those of Protestants such as Roger Mehl and Jacques Ellul, are also treated. All of them, in different ways, contributed to the evangelical renaissance solicited by Vatican II and to the renewal of the social teachings of the Church.
