Derek Lea is an award-winning digital illustrator, author, and regular contributor of tutorials and articles on Photoshop and Illustrator techniques to leading digital art and design magazines. He boasts a list of illustration clients that include high profile North American advertising agencies and corporations, as well as an impressive list of magazines worldwide. In addition to illustrating and writing, he is currently a part-time instructor at both the International Academy of Design, and Centennial College in Toronto.

SIMPLY EXCELLENT !

This book offers a large review of painting techniques. The book explains the necessary knowledge to achieve the most creative styles: Comics colorization, Character tracing, Retro Art, Surrealism... It deals also with 3D/Poser working flow!! Each technique is described through an exercise well explained with tips and useful advices. The book is full color and very cared in its redaction. The author has been clear on process description that all user skills level can read and understand the manual. By reading it you will learn on how to improve your mask-effect and illustration creativity using photo-manipulation and sketch tracing. You will also be walked within renders and final touches techniques in order to boost your masterpiece visual aspect. Really easy to read, its usefulness is garantee! All source files are given on CD-Rom.
