"In the Fourth Year" is a collection of essays written by H. G. Wells in 1918, discussing the establishment of lasting peace after World War I. The book focuses on the League of Nations and post-war politics. Wells believed that a League of Free Nations was necessary due to the geographical limitations of existing European states and the destructive nature of modern warfare. He argued that the great powers should have more influence in the League and that delegates should be elected democratically.
