Le christianisme comme religion de l'evangile
Claude Geffré - Collection Théologies
Résumé
--
Continuing his research on inter-religiosity and his positive evaluation of religious pluralism, Claude Geffré has selected a number of works written previously which show the originality of Christianity as a religion of the Gospel. Striving to go beyond a simple theology of accomplishment, the author opts for a theology of religious pluralism which takes into account the 'otherness' of positive values in other religions. He is always careful to insist on the difference of Christianity, which is not just another religious system among others: it could be defined as the religion that leads 'out of religions'. But only on condition that we remember that what lies at the heart of the Christian religion is not the Incarnation - i.e. the advent of God in human form - it is the radical affirmation of a pact of friendship between God and Man. Unlike the all too well-known God of philosophical and theological theism, the transcendence of Jesus' God is the all-powerfulness of love, even to the point of sharing the weakness and suffering of the human condition, unto death.
