Résumé
Au sein du premier livre de Samuel, le triptyque des chapitres 24 à 26 est un joyau de l'art narratif. Sophie Ramond s'est attachée à la manière dont le chapitre 25 conduit l'intrigue et le lecteur de 1 Samuel 24 à 1 Samuel 26 - d'une rencontre fortuite au cours de laquelle David est tenté de s'emparer de la royauté par la force à une rencontre délibérée au cours de laquelle il donne une leçon de non-violence à Saül. Il apparaît que l'intervention d'Abigayil est ce qui convertit David à la non-violence active. À première vue anecdotiques, les textes analysés ici ont en fait une portée théologique. Leur analyse littéraire et narrative montre que leur pertinence est de lier en une seule intrigue deux niveaux qu'on ne peut coordonner spéculativement : celui du dessein divin et celui de la contingence des libertés humaines.

In the First Book of Samuel, the three chapters 24 to 26 form a triptych, a treasure of literature. Sophie Ramond has examined how chapter 25 leads both the plot and the reader from 1 Samuel 24 to 1 Samuel 26 - from a chance encounter, in the course of which David is tempted to take the kingdom by force, to a planned encounter, in the course of which he gives a lesson in non-violence to Saul. It would appear to be Abigail's intervention that converted David to militant non-violence. Though they seem on first inspection to be anecdotal, the texts under analysis here are theologically significant. A literary and narrative analysis demonstrates that their pertinence lies in uniting into one single story two aspects that cannot be coordinated speculatively: the divine plan and the possibility of human freedom.
