Résumé
--
Elisabeth Catez's path was a simple and moving one - she who became Sister Elisabeth de la Trinité at the Carmelite convent in Dijon and who gave herself, at the end of her short life, this name inspired by Saint Paul: Louange de Gloire (Praise of Glory)! Long before she entered the convent, as Mgr Decourtray notes in his preface, Elisabeth lived the spirituality of her baptism with joy and courage: 'God lives in your heart, make Him a dwelling place within.' 'Paix et silence' aims to show how Élisabeth's spiritual path is open to all those who have been baptised, and that it is in no way confined to the cloisters. God resides deep within each baptised person in that 'little space' which becomes radiant with joy and charity, in a peace that can only come from him and does not seek great things, but lives a simple daily existence under his gaze. At a time when many Christians are turning towards a more or less extreme Orient, fearing that Western Christianity may lack mysticism (especially the young), this itinerary with Sister Élisabeth comes at just the right moment to help us rediscover the wonder of intimacy with Jesus Christ.
