Alix Le Clerc - Collection Sagesses chretiennes
Résumé
--
In the spiritual works of the Blessed Alix le Clerc (1576-1622), we discover a likeable though too little-known personality. The woman who, with Saint Pierre Fourier, co-founded the Congregation de Notre Dame and opened the first free schools for girls, is best discovered through her own works. In this book, she tells simply and passionately about her spiritual path, mapped out with moments of luminous grace but also moments of obscurity. These notes, found among her books by nuns in Nancy, portray her as she carries out her supreme vocation: teaching, always seeking to share with others her encounter with Christ the Saviour. Paule Sagot and Marie-Claire Tihon comment and introduce the texts in this collection. A biography, which is published simultaneously by Editions du Cerf, presents not only the life and character of Alix Le Clerc, but also depicts the glory of the spiritual counter-reformation in France.
