So Samuel went to God in prayer, and the Lord told him to listen to the people's demands.#3 God allowed the people of Israel to choose their king, Saul, who looked good to them. But when Saul became hot-tempered and given to seasons of depression, it was clear that he was not fit to be king.#4 God chose David because he was a man after His own heart. He was not a super phenomenal person, but he was chosen because he was a man. He was not brilliant or wise, but he was chosen because he was foolish and weak.
