He told me about his dream to ski the entire John Muir Trail during the winter.#3 Bart was an experienced outdoorsman who wanted to ski from the southern end of the Sierras to Yosemite Valley. In 1928, he hiked into the Sierras and strategically placed his supplies. He then invited a famous mountaineer to accompany him. Clyde declined, so Bart went alone.#4 I was attracted to Ken because he was a gifted athlete. I was also attracted to his sense of humor, his bravery, and his kindness. We were very compatible, and we often went on adventures together.
