He grew up respecting women and having a strong sense of right and wrong.#4 Arthur, who had never left New York and New Jersey, was excited to enlist in the Army Air Corps in 1941. He was inducted at Fort Dix, and was soon on his way to basic infantry training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
