The book covers every stage of UltraSPARC application development and optimization, with special attention to parallel applications and the effective use of advanced performance measurement tools. Wherever applicable, sections are illustrated with code examples that show the specific benefits of the methods described. Most of the book's coverage applies to any software version, hardware product, or programming language, and can be used in both traditional and object-oriented environments. However, the book presents especially detailed coverage of techniques relevant to development with Fortran 77, Fortran 90, and C -- the leading programming languages for technical and high-performance computing.
