An unlikely group of five kids-all of whom hold a secret that could destroy them-band together and form The Liars Society.

Weatherby is a fish-out-of-water, new scholarship student at the Boston School, an elite New England boarding school where she's always dreamed of going. It's where her dad went - but he's dead, and she never knew him.

Jack is a member of the Old Hunt Family - one of the oldest and richest families in Boston. And Hunts are winners, but Jack is . . . entirely mediocre. And he's ready to do whatever it takes to win.

These are the first two members of The Liars Society.

Boston is everything Weatherby imagined - plus more. But there are some things she never could have predicted - a mysterious phone to pass messages, a gothic library hiding secrets, and unspoken rules that only apply to certain students. And then there's Hart Isle. A place she has never heard of, known as some sort of paradise that only Boston students are allowed to visit. And the chance to go there makes Weatherby feel like she can come close to the father she's never known. But right after Weatherby arrives, the Hart Isle Endowment - which funds the class's trip - disappears.

As the kids search to uncover the mystery of the stolen money, they learn that there is something even more ominous in the water. And Weatherby and Jack learn that their lives crisscross in ways they never could have imagined. Ways that dig up dirt from the past. But if they learn to trust each other, they can have the things they always wanted.
