Lucy Usathorn of Fort Worth, Texas, is having the worst Friday ever. She was so excited for the class field trip to the Natural History Museum, where her dad works. (Lucy's parents are divorced, and Lucy likes things the way they are). But-- surprise!--Lucy has to watch in shock and humiliation as her dad proposes to her least favorite teacher. Enter the magic bracelet. It shows up in Lucy's mailbox, with a letter telling her to make a wish (along with messages from a girl named Addie in Ohio and a girl named Becca in NYC). That's easy: Lucy wishes to have a do-over day, where she will make sure that things go much better and she'll prevent her dad from proposing to the awful teacher.
