These devices, in turn, promise new technologies that have the potential to revolutionize society. This book explores various ways of coupling quantum light into, and out of, solid-state emitters. The research presented here has led to important discoveries that will help overcome major challenges in this field.

Christopher is a semicondconductor physicist from Lancaster University who during his PhD studied the optical properties of semiconductor based nanostructures. Throughout this period he has authored multiple high impact publications analysing the light emitted from low dimensional structures, such as quantum dots and 2D materials. He has won multiple awards in this time, the most recent being a Doctoral Prize Fellowship from the The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
