UWB: Theory and Application covers the radio technology (RT) based on the transmission of very short time-domain pulses of the order of 100's of pico-seconds. The generation and receiver techniques render UWB technology ideally suited to very low cost, very low power implementations for short-range communications. The short time domain pulses also permit the use of UWB signals in positioning and tracking applications. The book will focus on practical implementation issues including:
- An overview of signal generation techniques and corresponding circuits.
- A review of fabrication technologies.
- Antenna design issues and practical examples of antennas and their performance.
- The implementation limits will be highlighted for application areas.
The book is aimed at the specialist researcher interested in practical issues of UWB technology and realistic assumptions of UWB, as well as the engineer interested in implementing UWB devices.
