Nano City interroge l'évolution des villes contemporaines sur fond de villes classiques, au travers de l'univers des réseaux.
A la manière d'un manifeste pour une ville contemporaine "Nano City" prend le contre-pied de la globalisation en explorant la petite échelle et la notion même de localité, et recherche ce qui pourrait constituer l'entité minimum de la ville.

Le workshop international d'architecture regroupait 89 étudiants de quatre continents, représenté par 5 universités : l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Montpellier en France, la Tohoku University de Sendai au Japon, le Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning Université du Michigan à Détroit aux Etats-Unis, l'Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura UIC de Barcelone en Espagne et la RMIT University de Melbourne en Australie.
Hitoshi ABE, Yasuaki ONODA, Masashige MOTOE, Osamu TSUKIHASHI, Tohru HORIGUCHI, Elodie NOURRIGAT, Jacques BRION, Ignasi PEREZ ARNAL, Silvestre CASTELLANI, Gretchen WILKINS, Paul MINIFIE et Jan van SCHAIK se sont réunis pour encadrer le workshop.

A l'issu du workshop, un symposium éponyme a réuni Chris YOUNES, philosophe, Manuel GAUSA, architecte et Georges TEYSSOT, architecte et théoricien de l'architecture.

Nano City questions the evolution of contemporary cities, coping with the background of classic cities and through the universe of networks.
In style of a manifesto for a contemporary city "Nano City", takes the opposite view of globalization by investigating the small scale and the notion locality, and seek what could constitute the entity minimum of the city.

The international architecture workshop joined together 89 students coming from four continents and represented by 5 universities: the National and Superior School of Architecture of Montpellier in France, Tohoku University of Sendai in Japan, Taubman college of Architecture and Urban Planning of Barcelona in Spain and the RMIT University of Melbourne in Australia.
Hitoshi ABE, Yasuaki ONODA, Masashige MOTOE, Osamu TSUKIHASHI, Tohru HORIGUCHI, Elodie NOURRIGAT, Jacques BRION, Ignasi PEREZ ARNAL, Silvestre CASTELLANI, Gretchen WILKINS, Paul MINIFIE et Jan van SCHAIK supervised the workshop together.

The workshop ended with a symposium invited Chris YOUNES, philosopher, Manuel GAUSA, architect and Georges TEYSSOT, architect and scholar.
