Résumé
The book is particularly timely. First, IT is moving into a
new
phase with regard to the latest developments in
communication while
it is likely that the majority of children will soon have a
computer
in the home. Second, there is now a useful foundation of
research
material that can form a basis for our reflection and
a
re-examination of our own practice. Consequently, this book
will
address the interface of home and school in this
revolutionary period
for IT, consider provision and practice for young learners
when
learning habits can be established and the links between
home and
school are strongest, and consider the changes in learning
approaches
for older students.
The book welds research and practice, and integrates
both
approaches to the use of IT through the contributors who
are both
researchers and practitioners. This volume is written for
teachers
who are also interested in research, IT co-ordinators in
schools,
teachers and students who are following PGCE and further
degree
courses, lecturers in schools and Education departments in
HE.
