Magic numbers for bonds and derivatives

How to calculate the 25 key ratios for investing success

Peter Temple

196 pages, parution le 03/01/2005

Résumé

Given the growing importance of bonds and derivatives, this is a "must-have" on any serious investors book-shelf. It is both clear and comprehensive, making learning a joy.
Alpesh B Patel - Financial Times columnist and Founder of InvestingBetter.com

This is the third in Peter Temple's series of book that provide lucid explanations on "magic numbers' and concepts, following the successful Magic Numbers and Magic Numbers for Stock Investors. It enables the (prospective) investor to familiarize himself easily and quickly with the most important concepts and terms behind these instruments. The language is non-academic, and the use of formulas is kept to a minimum. This book is ideal for investors who would like to learn more about bonds and derivatives in a concise and comprehensive manner.
Markus Unterhofer - Director Wealth Management & Business Banking UBS AG

Bonds and derivatives are financial instruments that can, to a large degree, be described "by the numbers". But what do the numbers really mean? Peter Temple does a good job of providing practical methods for calculating some of the most important numbers along with easy-to-understand explanations of what they mean. This makes Temple's book useful for anyone who wants a better understanding of bonds and derivatives.
Bart Broadman - Vice-Chairman, Asia, J.P. Morgan
