COM-CORBA interoperability
Sean Joyce, Ronan Geraghty, Thomas Moriarty, Gary Noone
Résumé
COM/Automation programmers e.g. Visual Basic programmers, will be able to access CORBA servers as though they were native objects. The heart of this book will be a tutorial in which the authors will build a telephone exchange and billing service. Featured will be VB/COM and CORBA clients written in C++ interoperating with a CORBA exchange server written in C++. This app will demonstrate how easy it is to generate information in a Windows environment from a mixed COM/CORBA backend. CD will include complete source code from book plus a limited version of Orbix (Iona's C++ ORB), ORBIX Web (Iona's Java ORB), and OrbixCOMet, Iona's all new dynamic DCOM bridge. All software is the latest version available in January 1999.
