Introducing and Implementing Autodesk Revit

Lay Christopher Fox, James J. Balding - Collection Delmar Learning

384 pages, parution le 19/01/2005

Résumé

This innovative book shows how building design strengths and methods can be used and applied with Autodesk Revit", Autodesk's newest software package for architectural design. Coverage explores the ways in which Autodesk Revit handles design and documentation tasks, where it is more efficient than AutoCAD or Autodesk Architectural Desktop (ADT), and the advantages it presents for making building models. Discussions illustrate how Autodesk Revit can be combined effectively with AutoCAD and ADT drawings to make the best use of existing files and work practices while readers make the transition to using Autodesk Revit as their primary design tool.

Contains coverage not found in other books!

Features:

  • covers all the design enhancements of the latest release including improved compound walls and ceilings, curtain walls, fascias/gutters/soffits, and the stair calculator
  • helpful strategies are featured that users can adopt to make the switch to Autodesk Revit as smooth as possible while they explore its effects on the design process
  • abundant exercises employ ways in which Autodesk Revit can handle multiple users on a project, multiple files, and Phasing - Autodesk Revit's method of showing the time component of a project
  • annotations provide added depth into the topics of Autodesk Revit's powerful schedules, its methods of data export, and the cost estimating module
  • coverage not found in other books includes Autodesk Revit's built-in rendering module, how to prepare an Autodesk Revit model for export to an outside Tenderer such as VIZ, and Autodesk Revit's new "walkthrough" animation generator
