Résumé

This is the complete insider's guide to the official IPv6 standard that will dramatically increase the amount of bandwidth available on the Internet. In this book, Christian Huitema -- one of the standard's developers -- discusses IPv6 in detail, showing how its new addressing structures and resource allocation techniques help solve the problem. The book provides thorough coverage of IPv6 routing; discusses transition issues; and shows how professionals can autoconfigure the new protocol, eliminating tedious programming. The book also includes special coverage of security issues, and shows how to use IPv6 in mobile communications, real-time transmissions, and multicasting (Internet broadcasting).
