is a communications engineer for American Express. He
designs and coordinates communication services that involve
multiple telecommunication companies around the world.
Clayton, who wrote the definitions in the McGraw-Hill
Illustrated Telecom Dictionary, has over 12 years of
experience in almost all facets of the telecommunications
industry, including public network traffic switching,
private line services, SONET network engineering, IVR
maintenance, inside and outside plant construction, cable
TV, PBX configuration and administration, LANIWAN
installation, electronic engineering, cellular/PCS tower
and site construction, broadcast radio, terrestrial
microwave engineering and installation, call center ACD
management, and voice mail systems and public telephone
network services installation and maintenance.
