Résumé

The release of Flash 5 in August 2000 has rewritten the job spec for web designers. From now on, if you can dream it, you can screen it.

New Masters of Flash - extreme Flash design talents from across the planet Japan, USA, Europe and Africa, who have between them won pretty much every web design award there is - Master Builders of interactive effects and sensuous web applications that have taken the world's breath away.

Diverse visions, yet sharing one thing - the ability to provoke live emotion tears, smiles, excitement, surprise, sudden laughter and maybe even fury.

New Masters of Flash is a compendium of advanced Flash design aimed at working Flash designers who are looking for inspirations and radical techniques. In each chapter you will read about the authors' influences and design objectives, and then follow a close-to-the-code tutorial, learning how in Flash 5 to create the effects and applications these designers have made worldfamous. And then more, including:

  • taking ActionScripting right out of the box
  • optimising Flash assets for use in Director
  • using scripting for advanced sound control
  • 3D modelling with Swift3D.
  • video interviews with six of the world's top designers
  • fully animated technique tutorials from the book
  • source code downloads for mouth-watering Flash effects
friends of ED always aim to have the hottest skills delivered right on time for your next career leap, via a stepped platform of design resources - Foundation, Studio and New Masters.

L'auteur - Eric Jordan

I aim to manipulate technology in new and novel ways, to stimulate and engage the viewer's imagination, to shape the ultimate user experience. I currently work and extend my skillset at Design Insites in Laguna Beach, Ca. On my own site, 2advanced.com, I explore the possibilities of web experience. I try to push the envelope of current technology and develop and shape online experience - and have been enormously encouraged by the site's nomination for the Best Interface award at the RashForwarc12000 conference in San Francisco.
