Fruit d'une coopération suivie entre deux équipes de recherche française et allemande, ce livre présente, en une pluralité d'approches, une synthèse sur la création et sur l'anthropologie chez Eckhart et Nicolas de Cues, alors que ces deux notions avaient été peu étudiées jusque-là chez les deux auteurs ou n'avaient fait l'objet que d'études spécifiques. Loin de disqualifier la création, Eckhart et Nicolas de Cues montrent, au contraire, sa valeur, à partir d'un commentaire original de la Genèse. Pour illustrer cela, Eckhart introduit l'idée d'une ébullition initiale, il met en évidence le lien entre la création et la Trinité, prend en compte la dimension ontologique de la création, tout en soulignant la dialectique qui lui est inhérente, ce qui a parfois dérouté ses lecteurs. Le commentaire de Genèse 1, 26, de la création de l'être humain à l'image de Dieu est également le point de départ de leur anthropologie, qui n'est pas sans annoncer non plus, sur certains points, la réflexion sur le sujet. Une contribution notable à la recherche est proposée ici. Des questions d'actualité sont posées, ce qui fait aussi l'intérêt de l'ouvrage.

The fruit of a continued cooperation between two research teams, French and German, this book presents a summary of the Creation and anthropology in the works of Eckhart and Nicolas de Cues, using several approaches. These two notions had been little studied in the two authors' work until present, or at least they had not been the object of specific studies. Far from disqualifying the Creation, Eckhart and Nicolas de Cues, on the contrary, show its value, starting from an original commentary of Genesis. To illustrate this, Eckhart introduces the idea of an initial overflowing, shows the link between the creation and the Trinity, takes account of the ontological dimension of the creation while underlining the inherent dialectic, which has sometimes confused his readers. The commentary of Genesis 1, 26, on the creation of the human being in the image of God, is also a starting point for their anthropology, which in some respects heralds reflection on the subject. This book makes a considerable contribution to research. Topical questions are asked, which makes it all the more interesting.
