Ben Stein, "homme aux talents multiples" de renommée nationale, a été l'animateur pendant longtemps du quiz télévisé Win Ben Stein's Money. Il a déjà été rédacteur de discours à la Maison Blanche, chroniqueur pour le Wall Street Journal et l' American Spectator, avocat plaidant, professeur d'une faculté de droit, scénariste et romancier - et auteur de plusieurs guides pratiques sur les finances. Il a vu les plus grands (Richard Nixon) et les plus célèbres (de nombreuses vedettes d'Hollywood) gâcher leur vie. Il a également vu des gens apparemment ordinaires parvenir à faire de leur vie quelque chose de grand -en faisant le contraire de ce qu'il estime être des actes et des modes de pensée ruineux.
