The Young Architectures collection aims to reflect the multiplicity of contemporary practices in architecture in Belgium's French-speaking Community. Each volume of the collection analyses an aspect of the work of a young agency.
This fifth publication looks at the work of Made in, a trio of Belgian-Swiss architects based in Geneva. Rather than focus on practice and reflection as they are presented in debates and in media as well as in conventional academic teaching, François Charbonnet, Patrick Heiz and Adrien Verschuere attempt a return to the discipline in order to question its foundations. As part of an iterative research into architectural writing, their work plays with the conventions of the discipline, in the process offering us a series of projects with a vocabulary that is referenced, historically anchored, reinterpreted and accepted as such.
The Young Architectures collection is a co-production of the Centre International pour la Ville, l'Architecture et le Paysage (CIVA) and A16. The collection is supported by the French-speaking Community of Wallonia-Brussels.
