Résumé

OBJECT-ORIENTED MAGNETIC RESONANCE presents a unified treatment of the quantum mechanics of magnetic resonance (NMR and ESR). It provides a profound knowledge and understanding of the quantum mechanical principles of spin resonance - the basis for understanding and inventing new magnetic resonance experiments and algorithms. The book covers a wide-range of topics, from the fundamental quantum mechanics of the spin to, advanced topics such as Liouville space evolutions. These concepts are then applied to, multiple-pulse, multiple-quantum and multi-dimensional spectroscopy as well as quantum computing. In addition, the book paves the way to successfully simulating magnetic resonance phenomena numerically. The corresponding software packages GAMMA(TR) and NMRMAT (TR) are supplied on CD-ROM for easy access.

THE FOLLOWING KEY AREAS ARE COVERED:

  • basics of spin quantum mechanics
  • quantum evolutions
  • multiple-pulse experiments
  • multiple-quantum spectroscopy
  • three-dimensional spectroscopy
  • spin quantum computing
Object-Oriented Magnetic Resonance will be of interest to scientists and graduate students working with NMR or ESR in biology, chemistry, materials, physics and medicine. The book is not only dedicated to university and research institutes, but also, to centres in industry.
