In the back of the book all the information about the structures depicted in the front can be found, as well as a complete view of the buildings and texts about architecture and perception. The photographs were taken in foreign countries on every continent and depict a great number of famous and representative structures from different ages and cultures.

In Einzelkapiteln ordnet Jörg Kurt Grütter ausgewählte Gebäudedetails Bereichen wie Raum, Farbe, Dynamik, Oberfläche zu. Der Leser kann Analogien und Widersprüche entdecken und die Fotos völlig unabhängig vom Text betrachten. Erst im hinteren Teil des Buches findet man alle Informationen zu den vorne abgebildeten Bauten - Standort, Architekten, Baujahr etc. -, die Gebäude in Gesamtansicht sowie kurze Texte und Zitate zu Architektur und Wahrnehmung.

Die Fotografien sind während Auslandsaufenthalten und Reisen des Autors auf allen Kontinenten entstanden und zeigen eine Vielzahl berühmter und landestypischer Bauwerke aus unterschiedlichen Epochen und Kulturen.
