SPSS Explained
Perry R. Hinton, Charlotte Brownlow, Isabella McMurray, Bob Cozens
Résumé
Do you need to know how to use SPSS?
Do you want help with the meaning of SPSS outputs?
SPSS Explained clearly outlines how to undertake key statistical analyses using the SPSS releases 10, 11 and 12. Step-by-step explanations illustrated with screen shots guide students through the basic procedures and all aspects of SPSS output. The reader is introduced to thinking about the data they have collected and how to enter it into SPSS, how to create descriptive statistics and graphs and how to make changes in the data entered.
This book:
- assumes only a minimum of prior knowledge of statistics and SPSS
- contains regular advice boxes to remind readers of useful tips specific to each test and direct them to other relevant sections of the book
- divides each topic into an 'essentials' and an 'advanced' section to suit the different needs of users with different levels of familiarity with SPSS
- runs through specific sample tests and examples.
In addition, as their expertise increases, readers are encouraged to think about the basic rationale behind the statistics. Unobtrusive cross-referencing makes this the ideal companion to Statistics Explained, 2nd Edition, also published by Routledge.
