Gamma-Lines
On the Geometry of Real and Complex Functions
Résumé
This volume presents one of the core concepts in applied science that has undergone little investigation in mathematics, namely level sets and their generalizations in the case of complex functions known as gamma lines. New geometric phenomena and properties are revealed for large classes of functions of real and complex variables involving the standard cases of harmonic functions and meromorphic functions and including analogues of the classical value distribution theory and deficiency relations for gamma lines. This permits transfer of the value distribution theory to a new type of problem by studying the geometry of a-points instead of the number of a-points as considered in the classical theory. In addition, connections between Nevanlinna theory, gamma lines and applied problems are established.
