Résumé

C++ game developers, here's everything you need to deliver ultracool sound, music, cut-scenes, and other special effects to your games! Created by members of the Microsoft Windows Media team, this all-in-one toolkit provides the professional-level instruction, tools, and code to amp up your special-effects programming skills using Microsoft DirectX® 9, Microsoft DirectShow®, and Windows Media® technologies.
You'll learn how to add and layer 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D sound effects; trigger music to changes in the game; capture and edit video; render video cut-scenes to a background surface in a 3-D scene; stream media content during a game; compress files; and more.

The book offers easy-to-follow guidelines and insider tips—and the CD-ROM packs multiple SDKs, sample code, copyright-free music, and loads of reusable special effects direct from Microsoft's own game developers!
