Résumé
Every mathematician is involved in publishing. Throughout our careers, we are expected to publish our work: in journals, conference proceedings and books. Later, we may be called to serve as an editor for a journal or book series. However, our training is for doing the mathematics, not publishing it. Here, finally, is a guidebook to the publishing of mathematics. It describes both the general setting of mathematical publishing and the specifics of all the various publishing situations a mathematician may encounter.
As with Steven G. Krantz's other books, the style is engaging and frank. He provides insight on getting your book published, getting organized as an editor, and what to do when things go wrong. He describes the people of publishing, the language of publishing (including a glossary), and the process of publishing both books and journals.
