A wide range of problems concerning the most important areas of mathematical physics and various technical problems are linked into applications of Bessel functions. Bessel function theory is often used when solving, for example, problems of acoustics, radio physics, hydrodynamics, atomic and nuclear physics. Numerous applications of Bessel functions are relevant to heat conduction theory, including dynamical and linked problems. Bessel solutions are also an effective tool for problem solving in areas of elasticity theory.Bessel Functions and their Applications consists of two parts: in Part 1 the author presents a clear and rigorous introduction to the theory of Bessel functions, while Part 2 is devoted to applications to physical problems, particularly in the mechanics of solids and heat transfer.
